When it first debuted, the Bugatti Chiron was nothing short of hypercar history. The tradition continues with the 2018 Bugatti Chiron specs, which are more impressive than its predecessor. What’s more, this powerhouse is a dream to drive, with fluid steering, seamless handling, and enormous power under the hood. Topping out at 261 mph, the Chiron speeds from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds thanks to an 8-liter, 16-cylinder engine pumping out 1,479 horsepower. Even with its overwhelming speed and power, the Chiron offers a smooth and inviting road experience. The Bugatti Chiron price may seem overwhelming, but the below specs justify the price of admission.

Styled in classic Bugatti fashion, the exterior boasts the trademark shape and sleek lines. The hypercar’s rounded shape and bullet-like profile exude speed and ease. The interior of the vehicle is a mix of a modern stylistic approach with a nod to historical architecture. Interior colors complement one another and highlight key features like the center console, which is shaped like the flying buttresses that shaped the architecture of the Gothic era. When it comes to technology, the Chiron mirrors a minimalist design with two high-resolution screens, balanced against an analog speedometer.

Bugatti Chiron Price

If you are looking to purchase a new example, Bugatti Chiron price is $2.5 to $3 million dollars. If you have that much discretionary income, the final number is not open for debate. While the price of a Bugatti Chiron is in the seven-figures, you will have a car that is ensured to increase in value. Depreciation is not an issue if you can find another hypercar with the same options, but that’s impossible. Just like the Veyron, no two examples of the Chiron will be alike. That is part of the mystique of having unlimited options.

Bugatti Chiron Review

Only a few times in history has one car been the focus of a huge multinational automaker. Because the Bugatti Chiron specs are a statement by VW, nothing was left to chance. Driving a Chiron or Veyron is just as impressive as you would believe. It makes no sacrifices to comfort or style that is often seen in high-horsepower cars. Steering is quick and easy, but it doesn’t have enough feedback for a true enthusiast. Visibility is quite well, and that goes for bystanders also. The problem with driving a Bugatti is that it distracts every motorist around you. You must have 360 degrees of anticipation because it obviously drives the public insane. And while the Bugatti Chiron price of $2.5 to $3 million dollars may seem overwhelming, the below specs justify the price of admission.

Bugatti Chiron Engine

If we were to think about internal combustion engines in a logical manner, more cylinders would mean more power. Cadillac used this mentality to build their V16 flagships in the late 1930s. Bugatti resurrected the sixteen cylinders in a few concepts, and they shocked the world with the Veyron’s power. To engine designers, there is nothing new under the sun. So they took inspiration from the Jetta VR6 and simply scaled it up. In general, the W16 engine is essentially two VR8 engines. Essentially they added 4 cylinders to the W12 found in Bentley, Audi, as well as a few VW models. The Bugatti Chiron specs are slightly improved than the Veyron by the use of sequential turbochargers. Instead of having to awaken 4 equally sized turbos on the Veyron, the Chiron keeps two smaller units spinning and ready to make boost.

Bugatti Chiron Transmission

Before the return of Bugatti, no transmission capable of holding such power had been conceived. So it took the Formula 1 masters at Ricardo to built a new 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The dry-sump system has multiple cooling circuits and it sends power to a multi-plate rear differential. The front end is controlled by a Haldex unit, similar to what Lamborghini and Audi use. With the Chiron making 1,479 horsepower, Ricardo decided to demand the very best from their suppliers. Each component has been tested to destruction to ensure years of worry-free shifting. Regardless of your feelings about the dual-clutch transmission, the Chiron unquestionably proves the potency of the design.

Bugatti Chiron Interior

Only a few parts carried over from the Veyron. Bugatti Chiron specs the La Maison Pur Sang. What translates as a home for purebred Bugatti models, they will tailor-make the interior to your liking. This includes contours of the seat, unlimited color choices, and bespoke pedals for your legs only. Controls are carved from billet aluminum, and leather comes from farms without barbed wire. Accordingly, there is no plastic to be found. The interior is not snapped together on an assembly line. It is crafted by master coachbuilders in a manner that has almost been lost to the ages.

Bugatti Chiron Brakes

If you really need to stop, you should consider AP Racing. They engineered the Bugatti Chiron specs to allow for 249-0 mph in 10 seconds. The massive rotors measure 16.5” front and 15.7” out back. Although they have considered the idea of titanium calipers, the Chiron’s production units are 8-piston front and 6 piston rear. Each piston is a unique size to maximize the swept area. Using a few aerodynamic tricks, the front rotor heat shields create a turbine effect, increasing downforce at cruising speeds.  Because the carbon ceramic discs were designed to last the life of the car, the brake pads are your only point of wear.

Bugatti Chiron Standout Features

An electronic speed limiter will keep you at 261 mph. This is because the tires will begin to self-destruct due to heat. At top speed, you will only have 7 minutes of fuel. The computer allows the small and large turbos to overlap at 3,800 rpm, ensuring smooth transitions in intake airflow. Speaking of the intakes, at full load the Bugatti Chiron engine swallows 2,118 cubic feet of air each minute. That is around 4.2 times a typical 500 cfm 4-barrel carburetor. The best feature is the Bugatti Flying Doctors. If your car is sick, they can monitor every sensor over the internet, and your car’s vitals are displayed to the technicians at the factory. Should a repair be needed, a supercar surgeon is flown from France to your garage.

Louis Chiron was a famous racer from Monaco. His victories with Bugatti are memorable because he was among the oldest entrants in the races. The elder driver put Bugatti on the podium around the world, so several references to the letter C are found throughout. Moreover, the gorgeous quarter panel is one piece of carbon fiber from the roof to the rocker panels. In the cockpit, a central spine runs from the roof to the floor, splitting the rearview like the timeless Type 57. The body is offered with paint or visible carbon fiber, which is book-matched down the centerline.

Bugatti Chiron Special Editions

Taking these attributes into consideration, the Bugatti Chiron specs lend themselves to be the basis for a lineup of supercars. Once the first examples were delivered to customers, engineers sought more performance on the track.

Introduced for the 2019 model year, the Bugatti Chiron Sport ditched insulation and excess weight to lose 40 lbs. While the suspension geometry was unchanged, the shocks and springs were tuned to evoke the best attributes of street-legal track machines. The torque vectoring system was a clean sheet in order to maximize the abilities of the suspension. In tight corners, nearly all the torque is sent to the outside wheels to make the car respond like a featherweight. Revised aerodynamics also lowered drag and saved weight concurrently. This extensive list of upgrades forced the Bugatti Chiron Sport price to be increased by $400,000.

Bugatti Chiron 110 Ans

Not many brands make it to a century, let alone 11 decades. In order to celebrate the momentous anniversary, the Bugatti Chiron 110 Ans features are truly remarkable. To show off the gorgeous body, the skilled craftspeople chose to forego a traditional paint job. Instead, the carbon fiber body was primed and covered in Matte Steel Blue. To offer a patriotic flair, the colors of the French flag can be found on the mirrors, gas filler, and rear spoiler. The interior is awash in blue Alcantara with the same French motif on the headrests, seatbacks, and steering wheel. Only 20 examples were built.

Chiron Super Sport 300+

When it came time to capture the land speed record, specialized Bugatti Chiron specs were devised to go faster than 300 miles per hour. Once the car went past 304 miles per hour the manufacturer authorized 30 replicas. As the 2nd series in the 110th anniversary year, the body was highly specialized in color and function. Starting with grey lacquer, orange stripes echo the same colors as the record-holding car. Nearly 10-inches longer, the front and rear bumpers are designed to cut through the air. Although similar in dimensions, the powertrain was revised with longer transmission ratios, top speed suspension profiles, and more power. The Bugatti Chiron horsepower was revised to offer 1,578 horsepower and a top speed of over 300 mph. Owners were also treated to extensive driver training at  Ehra-Lessien to handle the power.

Chiron habillé par Hermès

The Chiron habillé par Hermès was built for none other than Manny Khosbhin. This special edition was created after years of collaboration between Mr. Khoshbin, Bugatti and Hermès. Its color scheme is an off-white chalk color called “Craie” that was first made famous by luxury goods from Hermès. Special touches, aside from the lavish Craie and Ecru interior, include the Sky View glass roof, the ‘H” Monogram in the grille, the ‘Courbettes’ motif on the underside of the rear wing, and Italian Red brake calipers.

Chiron Sport Les Légendes du Ciel

In total, 20 examples of the Chiron Sport Les Légendes du Ciel were created, each of which honor the racing drivers of the early 1900s that were also very skilled pilots. Each example features a matte-grey Gris Serpent finish, which is remarkably similar to the exterior color of classic aircraft from the 1920s. Special features of this limited edition Chiron include a unique grille pattern that resembles planes flying in formation, a “Les Légendes du Ciel“ edition logo that can be found on the exterior and interior, the “Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge” tricolor on the side sills, Sky View panoramic roof and a hand-sketched racing scene on the door panels that display a Nieuport 17 aircraft and a Bugatti Type 13 racing each other.

How Much Is A Bugatti Chiron?

Bugatti has already sold all of the Chirons that they have planned to make, so if you want a Bugatti Chiron, you shouldn’t expect to shell out the Chiron MSRP; the pre-owned market is where you’ll have to search. There, due to the rarity and desirability of the car, you can expect that the Chiron cost will be as much as over $4 million, but do know that the price tag accounts for one of the greatest, most powerful, and most iconic cars ever made. However, do expect maintenance on your Bugatti to be quite expensive. As these cars are incredibly advanced and powerful and made by highly skilled people in Bugatti’s Molsheim Atelier, maintenance requires a similar degree of know-how. For example, because of the requirement to remove much of the car and do more labor than on an average car, a Bugatti oil change can cost as much as $25,000.
